In 1984, Alan Robbat had a successful career in the nightclub business as the owner of "The Palace" in Saugus, MA, but he wanted something different. It had always been his dream to one day open a bar and restaurant where good friends gathered to have a good time and he would know the name of every regular patron.
So, when his good friend Ben Maganzini approached him about opening a restaurant, Alan jumped at the opportunity.
The Pearl Street Restaurant opened at the corner of Pearl and Charles Street in 1985 and it became a huge success with lines forming out the door and around the corner almost every night!
We developed and earned our great reputation for our BBQ Steak Tips, BBQ Ribs, and our sumptuous Prime Rib Special on Friday and Saturday Nights.
As the years progressed and we became the "Go-To" Place in Malden for great food & great prices, we decided that we needed a bigger space while still needing to maintain the small, neighborhood feel that we had come to know and love on Pearl Street.
After searching for an ideal venue, Alan and Ben fell in love with a converted Railroad Station at 53 Summer Street that featured all the charms they were looking for in the new home for Pearl Street Station Restaurant.
Built in 1891, this former Malden Depot had the beautiful amenities and grandeur from a previous era and it held a wealth of history to build upon. Prior to our moving to this current location in May 1998, Fred and Louise Spadafora owned and operated the popular Summerside Lodge Function Facility for well over 25 years.
As "Malden's Longest Running Restaurant", Pearl Street Station Restaurant has grown from a small restaurant to a multi-faceted facility with an expanded menu. We successfully retained the intimacy and friendly environment that we are also known for at 53 Summer Street in Malden, Massachusetts.
We're just minutes away from the Malden Center stop on the MBTA's Orange Line! We're on the block before the former Malden District Court, soon-to-be the new Malden Arts Center.
We are also a popular "Go-To" Destination just outside "Malden's Popular Gaming District"!
Come see us soon!
